Hello beauties,

There are loads of exciting products available from the beauty world right now. And just in time for Christmas and the holidays!

If you haven’t had time to get your nails done before your summer holiday, Elegant Touch Express has you sorted! In as little as 3 minutes you can have beautiful nails via their instant press-on nails. Besides the gorgeous and vibrant colours available, and the fact that they’re priced at around R80 (available from Dis-Chem) the best part about these nails is that they are literally hassle-free and no glue is involved. Just  peel off the protective film and secure on your nail. Beautiful nails achieved!

If you’re having a stay-cation this year, there’s no better time to indulge in some DIY pampering. Essie’s Summer 2015 collection sports 6 stunning hues, inspired by endless summer fun. The range is a fresh new palette and will definitely get you in the summer groove. Available from Dis-Chem, select beauty salons and Zando for around R125.

To get the best results with your Essie nail colours, gel or the Elegant Touch press-on nails, cuticle work is a must. The new Tweezerman Nail Pushy is a phenomenal implement and if you love your cuticles, you will love this nail tool. One end is a cuticle pusher (like an orange stick) and the other end cleans nails. The Nail Pushy is so fabulous because it’s made of stainless steel and has a non-slip grip, both of which help you get rid of every last bit of skin or glue on your nail. At R295, it’s a little steep, but is washable and will probably last you a lifetime. This is one of those tools that I didn’t think I’d ever need, but now that I’ve used it, I’m hooked. Available from Dis-Chem

To revitalise, moisturise and plump up lips try Dermactin-TS’s Lip Plumper Smart Gloss. The gloss smells like berry sweeties and feels deliciously smooth once on your lips. If you prefer nude lips, chances are this this won’t be for you. I actually doubled back to see my reflection in the mirror, because the gloss goes on clear and then turns a custom colour, according to your lips. Mine turned a pretty pink (on paper it turned more of a pinky-purple shade). Directions say to apply it before getting into bed, but you can use more often if desired. I used it nightly for about 2 weeks, but didn’t see any plumping action. It’s a nice lip gloss though, and for R129 (available from Dis-Chem) it won’t break the bank.

Amp up your look for all your Christmas and New Years celebrations with bold eyes. At only R60, Eylure’s Exaggerate Eyelashes are a sure way to turn heads. The best part? They’re reusable! Available from Dis-Chem.

If false lashes seem out of your skill zone (I promise that with practice it gets easier), then you’ll LOVE Bourjois‘ new Lash Machine. Lash Machine is an eyelash booster that helps you achieve fuller and longer lashes. Basically, it’s a tube of fibres that you apply between mascara coats. How to do it? Curl your lashes and apply your first coat of mascara. Next apply the fibres (which will stick to your lashes and make you look like a baby bird). Now, finish off with another coat of mascara to turn the fibres black and to get length and volume. I love! Available for around R150 from Clicks.

For on point eyebrows, check out Eylure’s Brow Crayons. These pencils ensure intense, long lasting colour and are available in Dark Brown, Mid Brown and Blonde. I love the fact that the Blonde pencil is just the right shade – not too dark and not too light. This pencil gives you just the right amount of control (some pencils are too soft and end up going all over the show) and provides the definition you need. I also love the fact that these Brow Crayons are self-propelling, which means you never need a sharpener. How cool is that? R125 from Dis-Chem.

Beautiful lashes? Check. Beautiful brows? Check. For beautiful eyes, keep your  eye area wrinkle-free with Bio Nike’s Defence Eye Anti-Wrinkle Eye Contour Cream. Designed for sensitive and intolerant skin, Bio Nike is an Italian brand that is preservative free, fragrance free and gluten free. I’m not too sure if products need to be gluten free, or what the benefit of that is, but I do know that I have been impressed by a few of their offerings and last year while in Italy, I saw Bio Nike at every pharmacy. For it to be everywhere, in spite of the millions of other brands out there has to mean something. Italian women are quite particular about what they put on their skin, so I trust this brand.

This eye cream is gorgeously rich (not what I expected from the packaging at all) and includes a special combination of active ingredients that prevent fine lines and that reduce the depth of existing lines. It also protects the eye area from free radical damage and photo-ageing.  I love the texture, I love that my under eye skin feels hydrated and moisturised and I love the price point. If you’re looking for a new eye cream, go out and try this. R165 from Dis-Chem.

For all over smooth and gorgeous skin, the cult classic Creme de Corps by Kiehl’s has come out with a holiday edition of it’s Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter decorated by German-born, world-raised, and New York-based artist, Peter Max. Max is renowned for his vibrant colour palette and whimsical imagery, and uses love, harmony, community, and environmentalism as themes in his works, sharing in the spirit that Kiehl’s has celebrated since 1851. If you haven’t tried Creme de Corps (Beyonce uses it btw) you will definitely want to pop into your nearest Kiehl’s branch to test it out. The luxurious air-whipped body butter has the most dreamy, creamy texture and smells beyond delicious. It looks and smells good enough to eat and reminds me of a thick vanilla dessert. I’m almost always tempted to taste it (but I haven’t). Good looks and heavenly scent aside, it delivers rich hydration for up to 24 hours for a wonderfully indulgent, multi-sensory experience. The 226g tub is available for R685.
