Natural Aqueous Cream from Oh-Lief

Having a 3 year old nephew and another brand new nephew, I am aware of just how gentle the skin is. Back in my day, my mom used to use Aqueous Cream on me, and I remember the girls at school used to apply it to their legs after shaving – it was the best moisturiser back then! Sadly, Aqueous Cream as we know it contains mineral oil derived from Petroleum. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that this doesn’t sound right. Petroleum on skin? No way. It isn’t good for you, and all it does is seal in moisture.

Enter Oh-Lief and their wonderful new ‘nasty-free’ Natural Aqueous Cream. It is the first (and much needed) organic aqueous cream in South Africa and contains absolutely no petrochemicals, paraffin or mineral oils. It contains certified organic ingredients only like Organic olive, sesame and coconut oils to nourish, protect and soothe the skin as well as beeswax to form a thin protective layer over the skin and Bentonite clay to help heal skin complaints and irritations. It is fragrance free, and is suitable for those prone to dry or problematic skin. Use it to sooth dry, cracked skin and even eczema, as a gentle lotion for the whole family, as a gentle wash/cream for newborn babies or even to remove makeup. With winter on it’s way, I’m definitely stocking up!

Available for around R100 for a 250gram tub. No matter where you are in South Africa, you can find your nearest local stockist here, online stockist here, or just visit my favourite online stockist Faithful to Nature.

P.S. If you find it a bit too bland or fragrance-free for your liking, why not add a drop of your favourite essential oil to the mix? I mix mine with some lavender oil for a soothing night’s sleep, a few drops of orange oil for a zesty wake-up call, or some rose and geranium for a little bit of luxury.
