Review | Billion Dollar Brow’s Brow Boost

Let’s face it lovelies, eyebrows are one of the most important features of our faces – and yet they are often the most neglected. Defined brows instantly make you look more polished.

Developed by Natalie and Tim Plain, a husband and wife team, Billion Dollar Brows was created to stop this neglect and help customers all over the globe obtain the beautiful brows they deserve at a sensible price. BDB offers literally everything and anything you can think of that is related to eyebrows: powders, gels, tints, pencils, eyebrow enhancers and the list goes on. They are the only company dedicated solely to eyebrows.

The first product to be born was Brow Boost, designed to help men and women condition their thin, over-tweezed eyebrows. It turned out to be an immediate success, helping people all over the globe achieve healthier, fuller brows. I was most intrigued by this product (besides the amazingly cool Brow Buddy) because I had been over-tweezing my brows in an OCD-like fashion, and I wanted bolder brows. These are my thoughts…

BDB’s Brow Boost is said to repair and restore thin, over-plucked eyebrows, lengthen, thicken and volumize brows as well as nourish and protect.

I applied Brow Boost nightly for about a month, and was shocked to find that the product had run out in 4 short weeks. I paid about R290 odd for the4 ml tube, and while it isn’t Rapid Lash money, I was still surprised at how quickly I had gone through the tube. I was also quite surprised to see that water is the primary ingredient of Brow Boost. Around week 3, I noticed that my hair grew back, and I was impressed. But then I thought about it: all the hairs that I had tweezed were back, but I didn’t see any new hair growth on other sparse areas that I never tweeze. I would say that using the product made my eyebrows are about 10% thicker and more voluminous – but I don’t know if that’s because of the Brow Boost or allowing my plucked hairs to grow back, and letting go my OCD compulsion to tweeze. Also, in order to keep on seeing results, you need to keep on buying the product. Some people love it, and swear by it, but it didn’t work that well for me. I would use it if I received a tube, but wouldn’t go out and repurchase.
