DIY Gold Hardware Sneakers
Two weeks ago, I posted about making your own accessories and getting creative with some neat DIY ideas. If you don’t recall, check it out here.
Using the inspiration from Honestly… WTF, I decided to embark on my own project of studding some sneakers. I got a pair of plain white sneakers from Pick ‘n Pay for R59.90. I thought about going the Converse route – but the thought of ‘what if I hate them?’ occurred to me. The glue I got from Builders Warehouse. The studs, however, were not so easy to find, and took 4 whole days to procure. I went from fabric shop to craft shop to haberdashery to hardware shop to crazy store and still couldn’t find any studs. The studs proved to be elusive so eventually, in a bead shop I had never heard of, I found some cool gold hardware in place of the studs that I thought could be suitable for my project.
This is the final product:

I think they’re cool! I don’t know how long I’ll wear them for, but I think with a pair of light blue jeans and a graphic tee or racerback tank top, they will look fab!
