Smoothing Hair Care | Micro Keratin

At my last hair appointment my hairdresser was talking about this great new keratin product called Micro Keratin that uses nanotechnology to create keratin molecules to heal your hair. Obviously I was intrigued, so we decided to use it on my hair. Once I saw the end result, I loved it so much, he gave me the range to take home so I could test it out over a period.

What is Nanotechnology? It’s the manipulation of matter on an atomic, molecular, and supramolecular scale. By using this form of technology, the people at Micro Keratin are able to create keratin molecules so small within the product, that they are able to penetrate each strand of hair, healing it from the inside out. Sometimes, keratin based products contain molecules that are too large to actually do anything more than sit on top of your hair and wash off when the hair is rinsed.

My thoughts

The entire range smells UH-mazing! The Smoothing Shampoo lathers up nicely, but not crazily so, because of the no-sulphate thing, and cleanses my hair really nicely. The Deep Keratin Treatment Masque really fortifies my hair. I can’t describe it any other way. It feels so calm and smooth upon rinsing it out, and that’s just the middle step. The Moisture Repair Conditioner really smooths my hair nicely but takes an AGE  to wash out. Perhaps it is worth it though, because my hair is really happy and feels silky smooth after I use the Micro Keratin range. After I had heat style my hair I apply the Micro Keratin Serum to lock in moisture and boost shine.

Overall my experience with the products from this Keratin range has been wonderful! My hair looks healthy and bouncy, is frizz-free and sleek. So much so that last week I used the Babyliss Curl Pro Secret to curl my hair after using the Micro Keratin range and guess what? My hair was so straight and smooth, the curl didn’t stay as long as when I use Kerastase Chroma Captive. Good news for those of you wanting kink free hair that lasts. If you love straight hair and you want to make your life easier I would definitely pick up this new product and give it a try.

I’ve used the Deep Keratin Treatment Masque with other hair products (shampoo and conditioner) (so basically, you don’t need the entire range and you can just use the mask if you need a good one) and each time I use it, my hair is really beautiful and frizz-free. It really performs like nothing I’ve ever used. Most other masks focus on protein or moisture, but this mask leaves your hair straight and silky and gorgeous. I HIGHLY recommend it.

They also have an in-salon treatment, similar to that of the Brazilian Blow dry, except that the Micro Keratin version is completely non-toxic and contains no harmful chemicals. It comes highly recommended and at a cost of R1200.

P.S. I always thought that if you use a masque after shampooing your hair that you could skip conditioner. Not so. My hairdresser informed me that just like we cleanse, tone and moisturise, so should we shampoo, masque and conditioner (not every day though). You have been told.
