What did Vichy ProEVEN do for me?

Hey lovelies, after countless discussions with my girlfriends and family, I know that women are searching for perfection – perfect skin, perfect hair, perfect bodies, not to mention perfect men and perfect jobs. And perfect is a good thing to reach for, just as long as we remember that we’ll never actually reach 100% perfection. Strive for better, not perfection.

When I received Vichy’s ProEVEN range, I was super keen to try it out. I have a few freckles and pigmentation spots that I’m not too thrilled about (perfect skin, remember?).

Vichy ProEVEN caters for women of all ages and ethnicities who suffer from stubborn dark spots and uneven skin tone. It promises to visibly reduce the look of dark spots, brighten skin tone and create a more even complexion, with continuous use.

ProEVEN Brightening Cleansing Foam

This cleanser claims to deeply cleanse and gently exfoliate dead skin cells to reduce the look of dark spots to reveal smoother, newer-looking skin and a brighter, more even and radiant skin tone by way of Ceramide Bright™ and Vitamin C. It’s suitable for sensitive skin, hypoallergenic, paraben-free and Hydroquinone-free.

First up, this cleanser is super concentrated so you need the tiniest amount to get a delicious foam going. Because foam cleansers usually dry me out, I prefer cleansing oils, but not with this one. It never leaves me feeling tight. It does leave me feeling squeaky clean, in the best way. The scent is also heavenly and I love the fact that it provides a gentle daily exfoliation. I look forward to using it every morning and evening.

Available for a RRSP of R230. Find out more about it here

ProEVEN Advanced Daily Dark Spot Corrector

The Daily Dark Spot Corrector promises to instantly brighten skin tone and visibly reduce the number, size and intensity of dark spots in 8 weeks. It does this by way of a gentle exfoliation and contains soothing and fortifying Vichy Thermal Spa Water. It has been tested on sensitive skin under dermatological control, suitable for all skin types and tested on multi ethnicities, non-comedogenic and paraben-free.

This product is like a thick white milk and smells incredible, like gentle flowers. The texture is silky smooth and makes my skin feel insanely smooth, supple and moisturised. There’s no need for any other moisturiser on top of this one.

Available from Clicks, DisChem and some Foschini stores for a RRSP of R409. If you’re interested in reading more about it, go here.

I’ve been using this spot correcting duo for 8 weeks now. For the first 4 weeks I used it every morning and evening, and saw a noticeable difference in my skin in terms of radiance and brightness, but didn’t notice any of my dark spots lightening. The next 4 weeks I amped it up by using my Skinceuticals Retinol and saw better results – some of my dark spots were a little lighter. If you’re serious about pigmentation, I would supplement this range with a good retinol.

All in all, I’m loving this range. It’s cost-effective and it smells great. Again, for maximum efficacy I would supplement with a good retinol.
