DIY Beauty | Natural Hair Mask

With Winter comes added stress to your hair with more blow drying, heat styling and the dry climate. I like treating my locks to a hair mask once a week, to amp up shine and to try and reverse some of the damage I inflict on it on a weekly basis. I normally use the Moroccanoil Restorative Hair Mask, which I love, but decided to go for something a bit more organic last Sunday afternoon. I searched around for a few recipes, and finally settled on a recipe using an avocado, olive oil, coconut oil and honey. Here’s what you will need:

Mash the avocado until there are no lumps, then add the olive oil, coconut oil and honey. You might need to warm the coconut oil and the honey first (because of the cold weather they solidify). Mix the lovely ingredients together until they form a greenish-gold paste and simply apply to your hair, clipping it away from your face. Let it sit for 15 minutes or longer and then hop in a nice hot shower and rinse, rinse, rinse. I washed my hair twice, just to make sure all the oil was off and conditioned using a fine comb (this helps to comb out any stray avo fibres still hanging on). Dry off and take pleasure in your soft, silky hair. Enjoy lovelies!
