Dior’s Christmas Window Displays

Dior invites you on a unique Christian Dior Parisian journey by witnessing the exquisite window display at the Parisian department store, Le Printemps. I have watched this video about 4 times, and every time I see something new. Have a look at the attention to detail and you will be blown away.

The eye-catching intricacies for me are the different fabrics, dresses and accessories in the opening ball scene, the gorgeous red outfits of full skirts and blazers with the matching mini Lady Dior handbags in the scene with the hot air balloons, the Christian Dior emblem on the hot air balloons, the lighting, hairstyles and tulle dresses in the unicorn scene, the detail of the 2 doll’s dresses holding the lollipop and candyfloss, the frozen fountain with the CD logo and all the different outfits and hats, the doll that has taken a fall from ice skating and how she is lying on the ground while all the other dolls skate around her (I love the twins) and the doll putting on the mask in the final scene. All the dresses are scaled down versions of actual Dior dresses that are available for sale, and were all handmade by Dior seamstresses. You can see just how many people were outside the store trying to catch a glimpse of this magical window display.

You can also view this video (although it’s in French) to see how the dolls were crafted, how the puppeteer worked with the dolls to give them lifelike motion and the different outfits.
