Donate and Shop for a Good Cause

Vintage, with Love, in association with the forum company is the dream of two savvy, fashion-forward women doing their part for the community by incorporating fashion and charity into one fun event, a vintage fashion sale. So often we wish to do our part for charity but can’t find the time. Vintage, with Love is a platform for women everywhere to be a part of a project to raise money for reputed literacy programmes – by simply clearing out their wardrobes.
Vintage with Love is inviting generous women in Johannesburg, Cape Town and elsewhere in South Africa, as well as designers and boutiques, to donate their once loved fabulous fashion items to a good cause. The idea is to collect beautiful clothing, shoes and accessories that are not worn anymore but are still in perfect condition. All the vintage garments collected will be sold at vintage fashion pop up sales, where the public can come and buy beautiful vintage goods to add to their personal collections. All the proceeds will be donated to literacy charities.
About the women who started it all and the benefiting charities:
Jacquie Myburgh Chemaly is a journalist and communications consultant in the field of decor, design, fashion and food – in short, all things lifestyle-related. A former editor of ELLE, Style, Food and Home Entertaining and VISI, Jacquie is well-schooled in most forms of communication, has a fairly respectable fashion pedigree and is an avid consumer of vintage fashion.Leigh Ord is a teacher by training and with her background in education, a charity fundraiser to sponsor literacy training was a no-brainer.
Leigh’s charity credentials are also impeccable. A co-founder of the Charities Unlimited Golf Day, Leigh and the other committee members have raised more than R5-million over the past 20 years for distribution to charities around South Africa. Leigh has always had a passion for fashion and has over the years collected pieces that today her daughters (20 years later) are now wearing.
The next Vintage with Love sale will take place on 31st May and 1st June 2014 in Johannesburg and on 9th and 10th August 2014 in Cape Town.

Absolutely everybody can donate items of clothing. We are looking for anything stunning and gently worn. We all have items of clothing that no longer fit or have only been worn a few times and have been forgotten so please don’t be frightened to donate anything and let us be the judge.
