Inner City Bliss

Last week I experienced a bite-sized dose of heaven in the form of a super speedy spa treatment. Normally you wouldn’t associate “super speedy” with spa treatments but what if your shoulders are aching after too many hours at your desk and you only have a lunch hour? What if you are going on a date and you urgently need a wax and a pedi? Rain Urban Boutique Spa is the answer to all of these dilemmas! Situated in Rosebank Mall, it is literally a haven where you can relax and get date/afternoon/party ready in a flash. Rain offers ‘Tapas’ Treatments, which are 15 minutes each, and which allow you to get your poor nails/aching back/hairy legs seen to. Imagine having a quick back & neck massage, mani and facial in only 45 minutes! That’s express beauty at its best.

Whilst Rain offers these quick treatments, they also offer more leisurely, personalised treatments (which I absolutely love!). You have the option of customizing your music when you have a massage or choosing which scent of scrub, salts and body butter you want for your mani/pedi. I am also a big fan of the idea that all body massages are the same price, so you can either elect to have a hot stone, Swedish or whatever-tickles-your-fancy massage.

The interior of the spa is gorgeously decorated in turquoise and white, and immediately imparts a sense of serenity on you. Rain uses organic products such as Esse, Matsimela and African Bliss, all of which are a treat on the skin.
