Happy Spring!

Happy spring lovelies! I must admit, I am tired of wearing winter clothes and I can’t wait to try out some of the new spring trends. Goodbye greys, hello pretty spring hues.

Fresh Florals

Remember when Miranda Priestly disparagingly uttered the words “Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.”? As predictable as it seems, florals are always in come spring time. Florals are fun, flirty and full of colour. If going full-on floral isn’t quite your thing, try a whisper of the trend in the form of a skirt, a bag or a manicure.

Gleaming Iridescence

Iridescence is a combination of metallic effects that form a rainbow. This trend is also known as mermaid, dragonfly, oil slick and  holographic. The best way to wear this iridescent trend is against solid colours like black or white, as it allows the rainbow colours to completely shine through. If you’re a bit weary of this trend  opt for an iridescent clutch, or some holographic heels.

Mesh so Fresh

Sheer is in. Mesh is in. Mesh draws inspiration from the uniform of professional athletes, in keeping with the sports luxe trend. A little sporty and edgy, mesh is the perfect way to show off some skin while keeping your look casual. Remember, unless you’re Rihanna at the CFDA awards, you’ll probably want to slip a nude or neutral cami on before exposing yourself to the world.

Full skirts

This voluminous ladylike silhouette is here to stay. Pleats are also big this spring, and the stores are full of pretty pleated skirts. Team with a tighter fighting tank top, shirt or tee and some gorgeous strappy sandals.

SUITS

Suits can sometimes look stiff and corporate-y, but this time, the suit takes on a more modern, fresh and fashionable look.

Crop it like it’s hot

For those with a rocking body, the crop top can be a testament to this fact. For those a little less flashy, a high-waisted counterpart shows off just a tiny bit of flesh.

Pretty pastels

Not surprisingly, pastels are hot for spring. The best thing about the trend is that you can pick your most flattering colour and wear it with whatever silhouette flatters (and excites) you. The sky’s the limit on how pastel-happy you want to get.

Bomber jackets

This sporty layering piece gets edgier for spring with adventurously colourful prints, luxe textures and fabrics, and sporty-cool detailing—like mesh weaving and perforations. The bomber is ultra versatile and can temper the girliness of a dress or can complement the athletic chicness of dressy shorts.
