How To Fix Self-tanning Mistakes

A week ago I did a post on how to apply self-tan. This week I’m going to let you in on a secret that will help you erase self-tan patches. Because waking up in the morning to find out that you’ve transformed yourself into an orange zebra is not a nice thing. However, in the spirit of saving our skin and ageing gracefully, it is a modern day beauty dilemma that we have to work around.

Your 2 magic ingredients will be bicarbonate of soda and lemon juice:

  1. Before you shower, squeeze some lemon juice and mix into the bicarb to make a paste.
  2. Have your shower (wash your hair, do your thang) and after you’ve done all the neccessaries, switch the water off and lightly dry-off.
  3. Use the paste on your damp skin to buff away the streaky bits. Using it on dripping wet skin will not be as effective, as the water will dilute the acidity of the lemon and you will have to rub 3 times longer.
  4. Shower off the mixture and your patches and streaks should look a lot better. The lemon acts as a natural bleach, and the bicarb helps to lift off dead skin cells.

And that’s how easy it is! :-)
