The Best of 2014
Looking back on 2014, there were a few beautiful trends that I’m not ready to let go of yet. Here they are…
KNUCKLE RINGS
Instead of big rhinestones and large cuffs, more attention was placed on thin knuckle rings. Worn stacked and mixed up, these pieces are only noticeable upon closer inspection, which makes them feel special in a whole different way. They are très elegant and lots of fun!
bucket bags
The clean-lined bucket bag with its crisp-cut, non-hemmed edges and simple drawstring was the must-have bag for 2014. Super cool and minimalistic, I predict that we will be seeing this bag a lot more in 2015.
GOLD TATTOOS
The tattoo-as-jewellery phenomenon as seen on Beyoncé and the like shimmied its way into 2014. Worn with some of your other favourite pieces, the idea is for people to wonder if said item is real or not. Not for every day wear, but maybe a little something special for when you’re yearning for some whimsy.
CROP TOPS & SKIRTS
Although Kim K has almost made the crop top and skirt combo her every day uniform, matching sets were a massive trend for 2014, and for good reason. They are an easy way to look instantly more put-together, they show off your curves gorgeously and they banish the “What do I wear tonight?” question. These pieces are also interchangeable, giving you a 3-in-1 outfit. Love!
