Gift Ideas

When Christmas time arrives, I often struggle with buying gifts for my loved ones. My mom seems to have everything she needs, and my sister is into practical items because she’s a stay-at-home mom. I don’t think she would see the value in a pair of gorgeous heels or a beautiful cerise silk top. I know I can always build on what they currently love and gift them something similar, or I can ask them directly what they want. This year I’m doing a bit of both. For the person who has everything, I don’t think you can’t go wrong with these items:

1.  Clarins Essential Palette (R520) – This palette has a mix of matte and satin shadows in neutrals and browns. Because of this, it’s a wonderful, multitasking palette that can be used to create an every day look, as well as an intense brown smokey eye. With plant extracts, this is a little bit of luxury for your lids.

2.  Typo A4 Buffalo Journal (R179) – A leather bound notebook will always come in handy. Whether it’s used as a journal, idea hub or as a book to write down all your favourite recipes, it will always be received well. I love the Tiffany blue of this notebook.

3.  Falke Socks (around R50) – Boyfriend has informed me that getting new socks is always a treat, and that he loves the feeling of fresh socks. Perhaps this is a common sentiment shared by men? If so, you know what to do.

4.  Human+Kind All-In-One Anti-Ageing Cream (R260) is an all-natural moisturiser, packed with highly concentrated active natural ingredients selected for their rejuvenating and healing properties. As a fan of green products and with a very active 2 year old and one on the way, I’m sure this is something my sister will love.

5.  Tom Ford Lip Color in Violet Fatale (R320) has a phenomenal colour payoff and acts as a stain, a moisturiser and a gloss. The Violet Fatale colour is exquisite, and it’s a colour I know my mom will love.

6. Better Homes & Gardens (R60 for a year’s subscription) – For ideas and improvement projects for your home and garden plus recipes and entertaining ideas, look no further than Better Homes & Gardens. Being an avid gardener and reader, I’m sure my my mom will get a lot of joy from a digital subscription of this magazine. Less paper = green friendly.

7.  Tommy Hilfiger Regular Fit Polo (R999) – Boyfriend loves Hilfiger polos, so I figured that another one to add to his collection will be a win. Any man can get great use out of a smart collared t-shirt, and a Hilfiger polo is just that much more special. It’s a real quality item and is guaranteed to last a while.

I hope your gift hunting goes well Lovelies!
