Hair Masks | Splurge vs. Steal

With Winter fast approaching (sob, sob!) it’s important to give your hair some extra TLC. My favourite way to do this is to use a hair mask in the shower. Now the last thing I want to do is get out the shower, apply a hair mask, wait until it has processed, get back in the shower and then carry on with my day/night. I like a quick acting hair mask and I want it to do it’s thing within 5-10 minutes. I’m sure there are a lot of you out there who are just like me, who just don’t have the time. This post is to tell you about my 2 favourite hair masks, one budget friendly and the other a luxury item.

Dove hair mask

“Dove Damage Therapy Colour Care Treatment Mask is scientifically proven to work. Its fast melting formula with FIBRE ACTIVES and VITA-PROTEIN COMPLEX, absorbs deeply to help bind proteins in the core of hair to boost  hair’s inner resistance and strength so it’s healthy and smooth with an extremely  shiny colour on the outside that lasts for 2 times as long. Use once a week to take care of hair damage, leaving you to enjoy your favourite colour, guilt free and without the worry of damage.”

I’ve been using the Dove Colour Radiance Mask once a week for a few weeks now and am very happy with the results. After shampooing my locks, I apply it to the ends of my hair and leave it in my hair for five minutes. I rinse it off and then use a light conditioning crème and then rinse out completely. Once my hair is dry it is softer, smoother, frizz-free and more manageable. It gives a nice shine to my hair and makes it smell lovely. It gives my hair a welcome boost without weighing it down at all. Two thumbs up for this budget-friendly hair mask.

I will definitely be buying it again as it is quite cheap and lasts a long time. It is a great addition to my hair care regimen.

Moroccanoil Mask

This treatment penetrates deep into the hair to help restore elasticity and rebuild. Strength while repairing damage caused by chemicals and other environmental stresses. This unique formula is rich in vegetable proteins and will help bring out hair’s inner health, leaving it incredibly moisturized with a brilliant shine.”

If you’re already a lover of Moroccan Oil, you will be equally impressed with its sister mask. It too contains the magical ingredient Argan Oil, and is enriched with Keratin for a little something extra.

Unlike some hair masks on the market, where the immediate result is super silky and shiny hair, Moroccan Oil Restorative Hair Mask is all about rebuilding and reconstructing your hair from the cuticle, out. What your hair lacks in shine, is made up for in strength.

The consistency of the mask is thick, amazing, and smells divine! I apply a good amount to my ends, and let it soak in for 10 minutes.

The result: my hair is left soft, silky and smooth without being weighed down. My hair feels more hydrated, conditioned, and stronger. I have a few highlights and this product helps to combat the dryness and frizz that comes with highlighting your hair. This mask leaves your hair smelling amazing, which is an added bonus. The only drawback is the price.
