Review | Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion

This is going to be the shortest review ever, because I love this product and it is amazing.

Being Summer and all, you may or may not have got a gorgeous tan if you went on holiday. None of that matters with Dove’s Gradual Tanning Lotion. Of course a real tan is the best, who am I kidding? But with skin cancer on the rise, I give you full permission to fake it.

I used to be the biggest fan of St. Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Body until my beautician bestie started using Dove’s Gradual Tanning Lotion. She looks brown and beautiful every day thanks to this magical cream. I eventually decided to give it a go and picked up the Fair to Normal skin variant. I’m so glad I did! (It’s not a given that if a product works for your friend it’ll work for you).

Why I love it?

The first thing that I noticed about this sunless tanner was its scent. It’s amazing! None of that yucky self-tan odour that usually comes with a self-tan product. It smells delightfully citrusy and boyfriend always comments on how nice it smells. Secondly, application is a breeze. It goes on smoothly, and spreads nicely. I usually apply it after my nightly shower just as I would a body lotion (obviously with a bit more care to spread it evenly and rub it in properly). It does leave you feeling sticky for about 15 minutes after application (which is the only thing I dislike), and you have to let it dry a bit before going to bed. In the morning, there is a hint of believable colour on my body, sans any streaks. Very exciting stuff! I usually repeat this process for 4 days until I get the desired result, then I lay off a bit until I feel I need to boost my glow. If I’m in need of a quick tan, I usually mix some Dove Gradual Tanning Lotion with a pump or two of St Tropez Bronzing Mousse and I wake up to a bronzed body!

This is honestly the best gradual tanner I’ve ever used in terms of colour (most importantly) and fragrance (the second most important thing – no one wants to reek of that tell-tale self-tan smell). It’s also the best value for money. Go out and try it Lovelies!
