How to Wear Coloured Jeans

Spring is upon us and that means it’s time to add some much needed colour into our lives and wardrobes! Coloured jeans – from pastels to brights – are the biggest trend for Spring and Summer. The good news is that they’re affordable, versatile and much easier to wear than you think!  If you wear the trend according to your personality, it becomes a breeze.

What colour will suit your personality?

If you like to put yourself out there, go for hot pink, emerald green, vibrant turquoise, cobalt blue or even bright red.

Love the softer, more feminine take? Opt for pastels in any colour.

If you’re a bit unsure of how to work this trend, start with baby steps and go for a darker colour, like aubergine.

Remember: wear what you like, and not what your friend wears or what you think you should like.

What colours should you wear with coloured denim?

Here are three ways that you can rock these candy-coloured bottoms:

1. TRY IT WITH A NEUTRAL

Neutrals are going to be your BFF for this trend. Start with your cornflower blue, turquoise, pink, coral (insert colour of your favourite skinny jeans here), pull on a plain white tee, add some tan/nude pumps to the mix, accessorize with some gold bangles and voila! You’re rocking the coloured denim trend! You could go a step further by adding a bag in a playful colour to your outfit and then including a bangle in the same colour as your bag, into your bangle arrangement.

Pairing pink skinnies with grey and keeping the accessories neutral also looks very pretty.

Black looks striking with coloured jeans, but is better suited for after dark.

2. PAIR IT WITH A PRINT

Another fun way to rock your coloured skinnies is to pair them with a print. Try your hand at mixing coloured skinnies with polka dots, leopard print, nautical stripes, floral or a tribal print.

3. COLOUR BLOCK

Color blocking (pairing solid coloured, bright pieces together) is still a big trend. A rule for colour blocking is to mix pastels with pastels and brights with brights. Remember to keep your accessories minimal and neutral.

I hope these guidelines have helped you. The most important rule is to have fun with this trend. Pick your favourite colour, and away you go!
