Must Have | Ren Moroccan Rose Otto Body Wash

I’m sure all of you know by now that I am a complete product junkie. I love trying out new promising potions, creams, serums, lotions, washes, gels, scrubs, masks … you get the picture. Another thing that I am a fan of (as most of you will know) is green beauty. I like the fact that I can use products that contain ingredients from the earth. They make me feel fresh and exhilirated and invigorated.

One thing I haven’t found (up until now) is a holy grail shower gel. I have used Johnson’s Baby Top to Toe Bath Wash for the past few years, because it did the job – it has a nice fragrance, it is gentle on my skin and it doesn’t contain any SLS.

On to today’s review of Ren’s Morrocan Rose Otto Body Wash. It claims to be a “delicately fragranced body wash formulated with Moroccan Rose Otto Oil, one of the world’s most expensive and revered essential oils. The exquisite scent of Rose is known for its stress relieving and harmonising properties.

I have fallen head over heels in love with it!  Here’s why…

It doesn’t dry my skin out. When I step out the shower, my skin feels clean and nourished, never tight. If I’m too tired, I don’t even have to moisturise my skin before I get into bed. And let’s just talk about the way it smells. The scent is just heavenly! When I apply the faintly lemon coloured gel onto my sponge, the cocktail of Geranium and Rose oils bursts into life with the addition of hot steam from the shower. This gorgeous scent always acts as a mood-lifter, and manages to take me to different places every time I shower! Ren means ‘clean’ in Swedish, and never uses any parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, petrolatum, synthetic fragrances or colours in their products. As a testament to how wonderful it is, it has won the InStyle best body wash award 12 years in a row. The only thing I’m not mad about is the packaging. The shower gel comes in a plastic bottle and is housed in a plastic bag inside the bottle, which makes it impossible to get the last drop out! It’s more expensive than a regular shower gel, but I am prepared to pay that extra bit for the luxury and the fact that it is indeed a clean green beauty product extraordinaire.
