Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain | Why You Need This In Your Life
I have only recently started wearing bold and bright colours and this is thanks to Tom Ford (Violet Fatale, here’s looking at you!). I have slowly been making my way through some nice and some not so nice lipsticks in my new-found love of seriously courageous lip colour. An amazing discovery I recently made comes in the form of YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture Vernis à Lèvres in colour 10 Rouge Philtre.

This product is seriously a triple threat. When you apply it, it feels like a lipgloss, but it’s actually a stain and a lipstick, as well as being a seriously glossy lipgloss. The glossy stain lasts for about 5-6 hours on my lips, with the bulk of the time staying shiny. It also has a lovely scent and is a breeze to apply. The applicator is perfect – the tapered tip makes it easy to apply to your cupid’s bow and angles. The packaging is gold and gorgeous, and I like the fact that a small column of colour is displayed (which means you don’t need to flip it over to find out what colour it is). Rouge Philtre is a deeper, almost berry toned red, making it perfect for anyone with a cool undertone. When I remove it, I first use a tissue to wipe it away, followed by my Bioderma Sensibio H2O makeup remover. The colour is still visible after all of this. Talk about staying power.

It definitely lives up to its description and I love it! If you don’t want to constantly reapply your lipstick, this is the lipstick/stain/gloss for you! Fortunately, there are a a host of gorgeous colours available.
The only negative thing about this product (it sounded to good to be true, right?) is that after two days of wearing it, it dried my lips out so much. This severe dryness lasted for about 3 days. I guess this is the trade off: dry lips for an all-day colourful, shiny pout. My advice would be to wear it intermittently, and not every day of the week.
